Jax Schuck is a director and playwright from North Texas. He's acted since a very young age but his main theatrical pursuits began during his junior year of high school when he directed a production of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead by Tom Stoppard. After that, Jax wrote and directed a short dark satire play entitled Entropy. Later, he founded the theatre company Bliss Out Productions and began working as its artistic director. The first show he produced and directed through the company was The Two-Character Play by Tennessee Williams. Though it's ever-growing and adapting, his style thus far has geared towards absurdist dark comedies that delve into themes of empathy, communication, purpose, escapism, and human nature among many others. He explores these themes through moody atmospheres, inventive claustrophobic staging, playful language, raw performances, and cathartic dread. Jax also does professional tech work (lighting, fly system, and sound) for a variety of local performances. He is currently attending UT Austin for playwriting and directing.
